Technology transfer and innovations department manages patents, copyrights and trademarks at Nakhchivan State University, and works with the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its subordinate Patent and Trademark Expertise Center on inventions and patent applications. The department also joins start-up projects to bring university discoveries and innovations to the market, and acts as an innovation gate from the university to the industry by connecting with medium and large companies. Promotes university-wide research and fellowship programs through effective transfer of technology to industry.
Technology transfer policy uses a phased process to effectively acquire and quickly evaluate innovations from the university. This process enables the higher education institution to focus its resources on innovation as the most adequate method in order to create a social and economic impact in the future, and at the same time forms an opportunity for cooperation between idea owners and global and spin-off companies.
Conscious and professional management of intellectual property is an important aspect for the development of innovation and the continuity of successful cooperation between research institutes and industry. Through the established intellectual property policy, Nakhchivan State University ensures the effective entry of research results into the value chain and thus contributes to the development of innovative technologies and scientific innovations.
The intellectual property policy of the chair is designed to reduce the risks of uncertainty and loss of scientific and technical knowledge in the university. In addition, this policy supports the roadmap of Nakhchivan State University as an entrepreneurial university in the future: qualified scientists, sustainable long-term performance and maximum utilization of research results.
