One of the main structural areas of Nakhchivan State University is Working and training center with foreign students. This center organizes preparatory courses for foreign citizens starting to study at the university, and at the same time deals with solving all concerns and problems of foreign students studying at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels in separate faculties. In preparatory courses, foreign students are taught the Azerbaijani language as well as basic subjects according to their chosen specialties. At the end of the preparatory course, students take a final exam. Those who pass the final exams are admitted to the first courses of their chosen majors.
Education of foreign citizens at the university is carried out on a paid basis. Tuition fees vary depending on the level of education and specialty.
